Fabulous Gay Sydney

Blessed by its stunning harbour, 37 beaches and temperate climate, Sydney is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It’s also one of the most gay-friendly cities boasting the world’s largest Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade and party which caps off weeks of festival activities.

While Sydney’s main gay district is on and around Oxford Street Darlinghurst (just next to the CBD), Newtown, an inner city suburb of Sydney, also has a strong gay and lesbian community – though more ‘alternative’ than the more fashion-conscious areas like Paddington.

Sydney’s also very multicultural so the gay scene reflects that diversity in age, race and ‘tribe’. The club/bar scene ranges from party boys/girls to leather and bear of all ethnicities.

Sydney has earned its reputation as a beautiful, welcoming and tolerant city
